Crucial Christian Institute — Program Overview
Promoting Faith & Family in the 3rd Millennium A.D.
Preamble
Crucial Christian Institute is dedicated to the education and transformation of individuals and families in accord with a maximal and holistic Catholicism. For in this anti-Christic third millennium, nothing less than a courageous and uncompromising Faith integration will suffice.
Crucial is defined as both "vital" and "cruciform/cross-conformed.” For the Christian it is indeed vital to be cross-conformed: “Jesus said to his disciples: If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.” MT 16:24.
Theologically, Institute of Crucial Christian Living is dogmatically rooted in the ancient, immutable Deposit of the Faith. Crucial Christian seeks to enunciate to its students the most fundamental truths of the Faith and exhort them unto the deepest adherence of the spirit of the law. Institute of Crucial Christian Living specifically tailors its programs towards the courageous and intentional celebration of the Christian life in this third millennium. ICCL holds that the Christian life must indeed be courageous, for what is vital to it is embracing Christ Crucified. And the Christian life must indeed be celebratory, for it is full of infinite vitality.
Today's hostile milieu requires nothing less than such a courageous and celebratory personal commitment to Christ. In accord with the Christian principle of subsidiarity, Institute of Crucial Christian Living recognizes that the locus of Christian inspiration and action in its deepest and most effective level must be within the heart of the believer. This means as well that the family, as the most fundamental social unit, must take precedent as the locus of Christian life. Thus, ICCL addresses quite specifically the ethos of the Christian individual and the Christian family in an increasingly hostile and anti-Christic 21st Century milieu.
To achieve its objectives Institute of Crucial Christian Living utilizes an integrative curriculum that is academic, experiential, and mentoring that enables its students to fulfill their vocations in the Image of God, as Feminine or Masculine, as Seekers of Truth and Love, as Co-Creators of the Kingdom of God, and as Christians in their specific vocational path.
Program of Studies
ICCL's format is a basic core curriculum offered via a video series of classes. These class are first and foremost for young men and women in the process of discerning a life's path. However, older adults, parents, marital couples, vowed religious, priests, and those others who have already entered upon a life's vocation, may attend as well to either answer their given call anew or discern a new call altogether. Each of the aforementioned groups will form a separate cohort that further explore the core curriculum classes, as they pertain to their specific vocational state, through online groups. Thus, there are separate cohorts for single men, single women, fathers, mothers, and marital couples. Sometimes cohorts overlap, such as members of the father's and mother's cohort joining together in the marital couple's cohort or a parent and child joining in a men's or women's cohort.
Diplomas
For those who complete the full core curriculum, an advanced elective course of studies, and two on-sight retreats (one as a mentee and one as a mentor) diplomas and certifications will be issued (see below).
Mentoring
Each student is assigned a mentor for basic vocational discernment. In addition, deeper psychomoralitic intervention and spiritual direction is also available.
Core Curriculum
The core curriculum explores the Seven Crucial Vocational States: 1. Psychomoralitic Vocation; 2. Incarnational Vocation; 3. Familial Vocation; 4. Sociopolitical Vocation; 5. Crucial Christian Vocation; 6. Ecclesial Vocation; 7. Individual Christian Vocation. The first four vocational states are of nature and apply to all men. The last three vocational states are of super-nature and apply to all Christians. All the vocational states, be they natural or super-natural, reciprocally impact each other. (see Crucial Vocations)
Second Year Specific Studies
For those seeking additional studies and/or a diploma, an elective course of studies is required. Institute of Crucial Christian Living offers separate and distinct 2nd year men's and women's programs, each with two major tracks.
Men's Entrepreneurial Track
Entrepreneurial Track with a Husbandry, Craftsmanship, Fine Arts, or Technology emphasis. An entrepreneurial vision is facilitated by individual mentoring with psychomoral mentors and with entrepreneurs and experts from across the world so as to inculcate in students the courage of an entrepreneurial spirit, the daring to venture forth separate from the corporate power curve, the creativity to think outside the box of the status quo, and the zeal to blaze trails and implement a God-given vision. As part of this entrepreneurial vision vocational training and employment endeavors are also facilitated. Homesteading agricultural pursuits, artistry and craftsmanship, the publishing of original works (including musical and mass-media productions), and high-technological pursuits are encouraged and facilitated. Specific entrepreneurial missions may be formed corporately as per the interest and talent of subsections of men.
Men's Vocational Discernment Track
Vocational Discernment Track with a philosophy/theology, sociopolitical, or psychomoralitics emphasis. Further discernment of the particular Christian vocation one is called to, is here discerned via spiritual direction and mentoring with those already in a state of life. This is appropriate for those desiring to go onto further academic studies and prepares them to navigate the shoals, intellectually and morally, of academia, professionalism, and the Church. Concurrent enrollment in other schools is possible.
Women's Domestic Track
An integration program with an emphasis in either Domestic Arts or Holistic Health Care. This program promotes devotion to and inculcation of the feminine charism, which is seen as the heart of the family and, as such, the sine qua non of any new Christendom. The Blessed Virgin Mary is the pristine prototype of this feminine charism. Because many women today have had the blossoming of the feminine heart hampered psychomorally due to the familial and/or sociological improprieties, classes aim at a deeper understanding of the feminine charism on the natural and supernatural level. As the woman's role is essential to the domestic church, subjects studied include the emotional, moral, and relational dynamics of personhood in light of faith and reason. As grace builds upon nature, both the vocation of holy matrimony and the consecrated life is studied as a fruition of womanliness.
Women's Vocational Discernment Track.
Vocational Discernment Track with a religious life and psychomoralitic emphasis. Further discernment of the particular Christian vocation one is called to is here discerned via spiritual direction and mentoring with those already in a state of life. This is appropriate for those desiring to enter religious life or go onto further academic studies and prepares them to navigate the shoals, intellectually and mortally, of academia, professionalism, and the Church.
